Shame on You AMEX, Commenting SEO a Waste of Money

We were aware that there are lot of mis-concepts exists on SEO, but never thought that it’s such a serious issue. I am shocked to see a recent comment from AMEX saying, SEO is a wastage of money’. You hired a wrong company and how on earth you can blame the entire industry for that. It actually shows how irresponsible you were while selecting the service providers. Shame on you to reveal own incapabilities and that doubles when you start blaming the other side for that. See the comment from AMEX’s OPEN – their so called A Practical Guide for Business Growth’ -:

Search engines, like Yahoo! and Google, are usually the first place people will look for you. Make it easier for them to find you. Yahoo! and Google offer tools to let them know the site map structure of your Web site. Also, using clean U.R.L.s such as yourdomain.com/store/widgets instead of yourdomain.com/store.php?id=42&categoryID=widgets will increase your chances of getting indexed in a search engine. Finally, don’t waste money on so-called Search Engine Optimization (S.E.O.) specialists.

Selling SEO in Ready-to-Eat packages

Is that the way it should be? I really get disappointed when I get queries like ‘What all you offer in your Basic SEO package?’ or ‘Let us see your service packages’. I can’t blame them, they have already tons of so called ready-to-eat SEO proposals on their desk.

Limitation of Short Term SEO Solutions

One more question I do get on a regular basis is ‘Why do you propose always long term SEO?’ or ‘Why don’t you propose a short term SEO solution?’ Simply I would like to say, I don’t have any personal benefits by suggesting SEO to your website rather you own the benefits directly from increasing the sales. But you know well, I can’t say like that. As I am the technical supporting person, I should explain to you in a polite way about the limitations of short term solutions. Here we go, let me explain to you some of my points to convince that Long term SEO is what you should opt for.

First let me apologize for not so frequent here these days. I was busy with dealing with some clients and with my day job. Handling clients is always a tedious job, sigh, anyway that’s part of my job so no way to escape. We all heard so many times experts share about the pains and struggles dealing with clients, especially for SEO. What I – and so many others – feel is the lack of awareness – or blind believes – about SEO causes the major problems.
