FeedBurner Merged Web Analytics to your Feed Stats

We all were happy with the services they provide – the FeedBurner – and here is one more reason to be happier more with them. They started providing interesting Web Analytic reports along with the current feed stats reports. An Appreciable step taken by FeedBurner team and hopefully most of the current users are excited with the newly added feature.

Why they Integrated Web Analytics with FeedStats?

For those who are already using FeedBurner for their Blogs, must be knowing what kind of reports they were providing before this integration. You could see:

  • The number of Subscribers
  • Popular Feed Items
  • What Feed Readers they Use
  • How Many Clicks/Visits from your Feeds

And similar more, also for all these, you can have reports for different Time periods like Today, Last 7 Days, Last 30 Days or All time.

These were actually a Half part of your Performance Analysis routines, the rest of it were handled using other Web Analytic Tools like Google Analytics, Statcounter, ClickTracks or similar ones.

But these two are not connected, I mean the Stats for your Pages and the Feeds were not really co-ordinated well. You were two different views about your visitors after they landed from the Feeds.

That’s Past. FeedBurner rolled out it’s new service, Site Stats to the world. It was actually predicted when they acquired the Blogbeat – one of the stats services existing.

What kind of Reports FeedBurner provides under Site Stats?

According to the Official Blog post of FeedBurner, you can have reports which are included but not limited to:

  • Page Views and estimated unique visitors
  • Detailed ‘by visitor’ statistics
  • Incoming links including search query referrals and site link referrals
  • Outbound links and counts
  • City Cloud map of visitors (but alas, no Cloud City)
  • And Many More…

Is that a Complete Solution FeedBurner provides?

Not really. I mean, as same as every other services existing this also is not a Complete Solution to all of your Web Analytics or Stats needs. But after they added this new feature it became one of the top reliable and cool services existing currently. Especially for those who are not really Web Analytics geeks, those who are not much worried about Advanced Analytics Stats on their Logs, can be happily use feedBurner to track their Blog stats more effectively.

A Word from the Author:

If you are already having a FeedBurner Account you can see the new option in the left site navigation. Note the Site Stats Menus at the bottom part of it. I will be posting about how to configure FeedBurner for your weblog, for those who are not having it already.
